FLORIDA KEYS

season: yearround

Located at the southernmost reaches of the United States, the Florida Keys is an incredible ecosystem and fishing destination.

The shallow flats and backcountry of the keys offer incredible opportunities to sight fish in clear water for species such as bonefish, permit, barracudas, and tarpon.  In late spring and summer the spectacle of schools of giant migrating tarpon are a sight to see, and will make any angler's knees weak as your preparing to make the cast.

A few miles to the south, the reef system stretches for over 100 miles from mainland florida down past Key West.  The reef offers fishing for grouper, snapper, barracuda, sharks, mackerel and more.

Just outside the reef the water drops into deeper blue water, with the gulf stream sometimes pushing right up to the reef edge.  This is where anglers troll for dolphin(mahi mahi), wahoo, blackfin tuna, sailfish and marlin.

The Florida Keys really offer something for every angler.
